I see when you apply a CP it puts a log file with today's date in the DOORS home directory:
C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS 9.1\CP_Log_06_May_2009.txt.
I see you can 'browse' to move the file, and even rename it. I see that the next time you apply a CP, it defaults to that same location. I also see here that IT has restricted access to Program Files so we cannot write to that file.
I was wondering if there was any to change the default location of the CPS log file?

Telelogic says there's no current way, but they are thinking about implementing a previous enhancement request to do so.

Two other approaches exists:
-1. Change environment variables
-2. Write you own implementation of apply.

I suspect CPS is using variable 'Home' and I'm pretty sure changing that will mess something else up. I'm sure I'm not going to re-write the apply function; unless perhaps I would peak at the encrypted files.
As I write the above, I have this thought: modify this ascii file:
C:\Program Files\Telelogic\DOORS 9.1\lib\dxl\standard\cps\apply\apply.dxl
Saving the 'Home' value, changing it to somewhere else, issue the existing call fnCPS_Apply(current Module), reset the Home value, delete its from the HKCU area of the registry.
IT will have a cow.

I am for it, let IT have a cow -- we can call it a bullit.
